Proctoscopy

This is a very short telescope used to look into the anus.It can be a very useful test in helping to look for problems such as haemorrhoids, fistulae and fissures.A small light is used to give a good view.It usually only takes a few seconds to complete the test. If it suggests that you have haemorrhoids (piles) these are banded, and a proctoscope will be used to facilitate this procedure.
